Tomasz Nowak is the PSP Emulation Reviewer for PPSSPP Gold. He tests the emulator on real Android devices, loading compatible PSP games and working through graphics, performance and controller settings before any version is listed on this site.
For every PPSSPP Gold version covered here, Tomasz installs the app himself and plays a spread of games on phones and tablets, from light homebrew titles to demanding 3D releases. He notes where frame rates dip or textures glitch, and he checks the installation process and the permissions the app requests along the way.
Every version is installed and played first-hand before it is written about, testing each app the way our how-we-review process describes, so the download details and guides published here rest on hands-on checks rather than listings copied from elsewhere.
