Every APK covered on this site is tested on real phones before any download button goes up. Tomasz Nowak installs the emulator himself, loads compatible PSP games, and only then is the version listed with its download information.
Each review works through the same set of checks, in the same order, so versions can be compared fairly. The emulator is installed cleanly from its APK file, the permissions it requests are reviewed, performance is checked during real gameplay, and the file goes through a safety scan. When a new version lands, the checks are run again before the listing is updated.
Reviews on this site are carried out by Tomasz Nowak, PSP Emulation Reviewer.
Test Phones
- Galaxy A55 (Android 15)
- Pixel 8 (Android 16)
- Redmi Note 13 Pro (Android 14)
- Infinix Note 40 Pro (Android 14)
- Galaxy A13 (Android 12)
What We Check
- Clean install from the APK file
- Permissions review before the emulator is used
- Performance checks during real gameplay sessions
- Safety scan of every file
- Re-checks when new versions land
For PPSSPP Gold, testing also covers game compatibility, graphics and audio behaviour, save states and controller support across phones with very different performance levels. If a version fails a check, it is not listed until the problem is understood and noted.
